How to Hire

At Hire One there are two ways of hiring equipment. You can hire either on a cash basis, where a deposit will be required up front. Alternatively, if you will be using us regularly you can apply for a credit account that offers 30 days credit from the end of the month the invoice is produced.

Hiring on a cash basis


Choosing the equipment


As you will see from the products on offer we have equipment capable of completing a variety of d.i.y. projects from stripping wallpaper to laying a patio. If you are unsure of what you will need, any of our experienced hire store personnel with gladly recommend the required equipment for your task.


What you will require


If you are hiring for the first time you will need to provide two forms of identification. One proving your identity (either driving license or passport) and the other confirming your address (such as a recent utility bill).




We offer very competitive rates for short and long term hires as well as special weekend rates. Please call for your quote today and see how much Hire One can save you.


Our pricing is in accordance with CPA terms and conditions.




A deposit is required to be made by either cash or credit/debit card. The size of the required deposit will depend on the equipment hired and the estimated length of hire; this is normally a minimum of twice the weekly hire rate. Once your hire is complete the difference will be refunded to you.


If you would like to keep the equipment longer than first anticipated this is no problem although a further deposit may be required.


Please note:
Cheques are not accepted for cash basis sales.


Operating the equipment


If you are unsure on how to operate the equipment or have any questions, then our delivery drivers or hire store personnel will happily provide a demonstration and answer any queries ensuring you are fully confident with the equipment you are hiring. However, it is the hirer’s responsibility to ensure the equipment is operated by a competent person.


Once you have finished


When you have finished with the equipment it is important to let us know either by returning the goods or calling to arrange collection, this will ensure you are not charged more than is necessary. If you call to off hire it recommended you request an off hire number for your reference.
